Instead of having Week 1 of the Big 12 slate open. 7 straight conference games has left its toll on the health of this team with two games left to play. Thankfully next year the bye week isn't until mid-late October.

In addition it takes out the possibility of an additional September home game/tailgate

Robins, Iowa
The lack of depth and the tough schedule are really showing on the defense and the running game. Defenders are just a 1/4 step slower, and that is all it takes against the really good offenses in the Big 12. Just feels like ISU is trying to duct tape and bailing wire enough together to get through the season successfully. The Big 12 just has very few easy games. Even Baylor with their one win has shown they are capable of scoring points.

Not really sure if a week off would really help a lot, but it would be nice to have it.

I’d settle for competent refs if the Big 12 is revising the **** on ISU bylaw.

Sans Lanning being banged up, the defense looks slow more because they just faced Grier and Rudolph and two of the best offfenses we’ll face more than anything. They held WVU to 20 points and effectively shut them down for 80% of the game.

It might have helped but we are playing tough, good teams.
The B12 has a lot of solid 8-10 win teams, while OU if they can play defense, looks like the cream of the crop.
We aren't playing that bad or hurt IMO. We are a good team that is in every game.
