The bumped posts always throw me off.You are both responding to a post from Feb 6. A lot of posts like that one from that time.
Ancient history!
Both have been valuable and I'd say exactly what TJ was hoping for.

Milan has panned out ok. We’ve been very Sr. Think next year we will see more prep contributions. Will there be discussion on it's a good thing TJ has been doing a great job in the portal because his HS recruiting seems to be lagging?
I honestly think we as a college basketball community need to shift our thoughts on hs recruiting. Every team is trying to get as old and experienced as possible through the portal. Unless a guy is a lottery pick or a freak it’s just hard for an 18 year old to come and compete against 21-24 year olds. Will there be discussion on it's a good thing TJ has been doing a great job in the portal because his HS recruiting seems to be lagging?
Suppose it is. It also doesn't matter NIL wise because if we did get freshman that can play we would have to pay them or they would portal. So we pay to keep a promising prospect or pay for a transfer.I honestly think we as a college basketball community need to shift our thoughts on hs recruiting. Auburns second best player is 25 and will be 26 next year. Hunter Dickinson is the same age to the day as Talen Horton Tucker and THT hasn’t been in an ISU uniform since 2019. That’s insane.
It’s just different now.
I think Heise and Chat are/have shown their worth. Mostly in the lunch pail toughness category. Heise offensive struggles were documented but he’s no longer a liability.
Chat had a few game stretches where we don’t win without his winning plays. Then a stretch where he seemed more of a liability. He’s back to providing quality minutes.
Can’t call either of them a miss.
They were hits. Good grief.Depends on what TJ had to pay Heise and Chatfield with the NIL funds available. They might have been bargains.
Gabe ahead of Jones and Gilbert? MkayI’ll rank em. Happy New Years ya animals!!
In order of program impact/effective hit rate*:
Brockington
Kalsheuer
Bob Jones
Keshon Gilbert
Curtis Jones
Jaren Holmes
Tre King
Jaz Kunz
Osunniyi
Grill
Hason Ward
Jefferson
Jackson
Heise
Chatfield
Enaruna
Paveletzke
Story not finished yet with a number on this list so it’s subject to change, however this list is correct.
*EHR puts weight on program identity, shoulder load %, as well as win-share above replacement.
I like to call them grease guys. Hard to define what they do but the game goes a little better when they are in.Heise has really come along the last month. He's not the caliber player but his improvement has been similar to the timing we saw CJ and KG really take off last year. It takes some of the mid major guys a month or so of big 12 play to get their legs under them. Heise will play starter minutes next year. Textbook glue guy.
I believe Gabe had more of a direct impact to the program than either of them on their own at the start of this conference season.Gabe ahead of Jones and Gilbert? Mkay
I’ll never play the accountant/GM with assessing hit rate.Depends on what TJ had to pay Heise and Chatfield with the NIL funds available. They might have been bargains.
