I always appreciate when people come right out and admit that they're idiots.
The heck with you guys who want to blame Rhoads. We haven't had a good offensive line since Seneca's junior year. How is that CPR's fault? Herman sure as heck didn't have one to work with, the quarterbacks were iffy, and the receivers not so good. Can't do a whole lot if you don't have passable talent--as the team is starting to get to having now. Stop taking shots at CPR.
HE wasn't horrible at Iowa State - IOWA STATE was horrible when he was here. Slightly different shade...You could look at it that way or that he went to Ohio State where Urban Meyer is an offensive genius and that is helping him... who knows.
All I know is he was horrible at Iowa State.
He did play power football against UNI last year. Didn't work out very well I recall. Then again I watched their only good offensive player run all over our defense playing a cover2 shell, so really all the coaches can take some blame for that game.FWIW, everything I've heard is that the offense Mess was running wasn't his at all. He wanted to run more 2 tight end sets and play power football but Rhoads wanted to spread it out because that's what recruits like to see. Sounds like Rhoads might be letting mangino run the show this year though.
In all fairness, Ames is a black hole for offenses up to this point.
