"Hawkeyes"

'Nuff said.

No...not enough.

**** Iowa.

NOW, 'nuff said.

Was just coming here to say that. That's one of the cues to take a drink if the announcer says that, right? Along with "played in high school with Nerlens Noel" or "YMCA/old man game?"

Commentators make these type of simple mistakes all the time How many different announcers have said Hawkeyes instead of Cyclones? 20? More? On the unfortunately 1 point comment, he probably meant to say unfortunately for Memphis. People are so easily offended

Hell they both suck.

3 points

1. They think a touchback is a touchdown.
2. They think Lisa Marie (elvis's daughter) is Elvis's wife
3. Hawkeyes reference.

I heard an "Illinois State" reference at some point during the game also, but at least that was corrected as soon as it was belched out.

Tubberville instantly corrected his Hawkeye reference as well. Tuberville loves to talk about RPO's and loves to critique ISU for dropping 8 on defense. At least yesterday he gave Heacock credit for the defense he implores.

He's called us the Hawkeyes in at least three different games this year. At some point messing up is intentional.

Not exactly sure.

Patrick corrected tubby, tubby agreed then that he meant cyclones. The worst is, he was in our conference for awhile and was CPRs boss before coming to ISU. Paul must have never asked for advice and that chaffed his rear.

Maybe, but Tuberville is being paid to be impartial. And a prepared professional. Can't believe ABC bosses would think he is either from what we've seen in his Iowa State broadcasts.

Maybe he isn't being paid very well to be a broadcaster. Did any one catch early in the game when DM was averaging 92.2 yards per carry. I just laughed.

I wish there was a way to shut off the announcers but keep the crowd noise. IMO 90% of the color people are not that good. If they know as much about the game as they say they do why are they not high paid coaches instead of blowhards on air.

The average age of both of them is ~70 years old.
This exchange sums it up....

Tuberville: "He can't be the first guy who touches the ball."
Patrick: "He wasn't."
Tuberville: "That's a good point."
Tuberville, as it's it's being reviewed: "I think they should look at this."
