How about conference championship? What are our chances at that? It would be a tremendous accomplishment.
Depends on what Oklahoma State and Missouri do in the Big 12s. Iowa State is a good dual team but those teams seem to do well in tournament format. Heck, Iowa State was even in the lead going into the weekend 2 years ago but OSU was able to rack up points in the wrestlebacks and championship rounds.

I hope people will come out this weekend for the duals. This team is fun to watch and David Carr is an incredible wrestler to see in person. Yonger Bastida is equally impressive when you're talking about how fast and powerful a guy is at his size.

Also the final time we will see Degen, Ian, and potentially Marcus wrestle in Hilton. Come support the seniors!

They also both have kids that are pinners. When those kinds of kids get hot in a tourney, it snowballs fast.

1. Carr
2. Marcus
3. Yonger
4. Ian
5. Kysen
6. Degen
7. Schuyler
8. Devine
9. Ramazan
10. Judge
Also, the only reason I put Ian over Yonger is because 97 feels deeper than 41 but both are pretty touch weights.

Would love to see 4 AA's here. That would be a huge step in the right direction for this program. Potential for 6, but highly (highly) unlikely.

Also I thought this thread would be about the Mount Rushmore of Cyclone wrestlers which is a good idea. Mine would be
1. Cael
2. Gable
3. Nate Carr
4. Jake Varner
5. Harold Nicolls

I know I am missing some really good wrestlers
Hopefully DC can climb to #2 as a 4 time NC.

As far as NCAA tournament goes.
197 is going to be about upsets and how the backside goes. I believe there are going to be some AA type guys not placing because of upsets. I also think some guys that are 9-16 type guys that will AA.

125 and 141 could also be that way. Need a little luck if you get knocked to the backside

Agreed, 125 and 141 lots of depth and going to all depend how the bracket falls. 197 has so much talent it’s hard to predict anything.

Help me out here. I'm beyond a newbie to wrestling.

We are currently #5 in the country. But how far apart are we from Cale's team? Are we close to Iowa? It seems like difference between #2 and #3 is gigantic. Versus there being minimal difference between #3 and #10? Please discuss

I have a hard time getting excited for a sport I know LITTLE TO NOTHING about. If we are closer to winning Big 12 titles and NCAA titles. I could see myself getting on the boat

I’ll make this easy. Think college football, Alabama and Georgia. That’s Penn State, Iowa right now.

We absolutely could win the big 12 this year.
