He left Iowa because they brought in a better 141. Don’t see how ISU makes sense for him with Swiderski unless Swiderski is a 49.

If he wanted to go 33, he could have stayed in Iowa City.
I’m not sure Woods coming was the reason and I don’t think the Twins were caught off guard.

But check with pancake to confirm

If Henson can’t beat him, not sure he’d be an upgrade for ISU either.
If he made 33 I think he would handle Schriever easily.

He’s a kid you have to at least kick the tires on to gauge interest imho

We don’t necessarily have a long term answer at 141 right now, so Henson is worth talking to for sure if he’s willing to listen

No doubt you kick the tires if you’re ISU. Just wondering if from Henson’s standpoint if ISU makes sense. Not sure that it does.

I think it makes sense if you understand you may have to sit a year or make 133, then go 141 when Swiderski out grows 141. He’d be an upgrade to Redding in my opinion

All depends on if Swiderski is a long term option at 141 or if he’s a 149. And if I’m Henson I’m not running from a high school kid to make my decision. I’m going to ISU if I think it’s the place I can excel

Cant imagine many guys at that level of talent are going to transfer just to have to burn a year of eligibility.

I agree. I would say if he can’t make 133, then Iowa State probably isn’t going to land him. But if he can then who knows.

I don’t know a lot about Henson but seriously like Ramazan. I think that’s there is a big leap waiting for him next year. Remember when Coleman ran ruff-shod through the backside two years ago at the big 12s? Now look at him. Ramazan kinda did the same thing then got hurt. I’m not saying he’s gonna AA next year or something but I think he very much so could be a blood round guy. He keeps getting better.

What weight did Swiderski and Mendez wrestle at in the RUDIS matchup? Casey looks big to me. I’m sure he can make 141 but another year he could be a full fledged 149er.

Like others have said, bring in Henson and see if it’s a match. You never know what the future holds.

Is Swiderski for sure the guy at 141 as a true freshman as of right now?

Or is he a RS candidate and goes at 49 in 2023?

Probably is the answer to whether or not Henson makes sense.

There is nobody currently in the room that can go with swiderski at 141, so ya he’s the guy right now

Agree. As someone else in this thread said 'motivations change'. I know Swiderski has publicly stated he wants to go 41 next year. However, dude has wrestled all the way up to 170. I don't think cutting weight for a whole season is necessarily fun for him and we've seen he's not afraid of bigger guys. Perhaps he redshirts or goes directly to 49 if Henson comes? Of course, this is all speculation on the off chance we have a shot at Henson.
