Wonder if he wants to be a 49 or is willing to go back down again. Seems like he could make more of a splash with his haymaker moves at 41 where guys aren't quite as tall/long and he has more leverage.
I think Swiderski has said publicly that he has no plans to redshirt but I could be remembering that wrong. And maybe KD and Metcalf could change his mind.
Not sure he even wants to wrestle anymore.Wonder if he wants to be a 49 or is willing to go back down again. Seems like he could make more of a splash with his haymaker moves at 41 where guys aren't quite as tall/long and he has more leverage.
I would have put him ahead of Coleman coming into the year. Leaving it he wasn't even close. Marcus really advanced this past season.I see Tate Samuelson is moving on from Wyoming as a grad transfer. I always thought he was solid (4x qualifier) with some good wins, just never could make the next jump.
If he could cut to 174, it may be worth making a run at him for a year. Otherwise, you are spot on, Marcus>TateI would have put him ahead of Coleman coming into the year. Leaving it he wasn't even close. Marcus really advanced this past season.
Football players are able to play in four games and still retain their redshirt for that same year, it's been in the rules a few years now I believeI just not sure you burn Swiderski's redshirt without entering him in a bigger tournament.
I did hear rumors of a similar rule as football, that you could compete in 4 events and maintain your redshirt.
Haven't heard how likely that is to pass though.
Other sports do not have opens where you can enter a player, unattached, against the same competition and see how they will do. If they allow the same redshirt rules as football and basketball then they probably need to eliminate the wrestler from wrestling in varsity competitions unattached.Football players are able to play in four games and still retain their redshirt for that same year, it's been in the rules a few years now I believe
Middle bash bros: Carr, MJ, RojasIF we are able to land Henson we'll definitely start having a bit of a logjam in the lower weights, which would be a wonderful problem to have!
The way I see it, Swiderski and Henson could duke it out pre-season for 141. The winner stays and the other guy starts his build-up (Swiderski) or cut (Henson) to fill in nicely at a neighboring weight. This gives us the Lil' Bash Bros. (Swiderski/Henson) and the Big Bash Bros. (Coleman/Bastida) with King Carr reigning overall in the middle.
How the hell are we going to slow down this hype train?!?!?!!?!?Middle bash bros: Carr, MJ, Rojas![]()
