So I've have had a galaxy s4 since it came out and it's on it's last leg. I just got the HTC One M8 and only have my contacts and music on there. Anyone know how to transfer the data from my old galaxy s4 to the new phone? The music was easy since it's on google play, but I can't figure out how to transfer text messages, apps, voicemails, etc. Any help would be awesome.

One way is smart card. Another way is open up your phone as a "disk drive" when attached to your computer and download all your data onto your computer, then do the same with your new device and upload it the same way.

no idea - though it looks like should be able to go out to Google Play and get your apps that you have on your old phone, but how do you like the M8? If you had the Galaxy S4 - why did you not go with the S5?

I was just looking for something different and thought I'd give a new phone a try. It's got a 14 day return policy, so if I don't like it, then I'll just go get a S5 or iPhone 6. My main concern is that I won't lose my Clash of Clans account. Haha

I would love to hear what you think once you've had it - looking at the M8 or S5. Current phone was mid-range when I got it and now it's super slow and seems to screen and randomly not receive some of my text messages. But yeah, I'll need to know how to transfer some of my stuff as well so I'm watching to see what people tell you!

Had my S5 for 2 months and love it! But why can't you just log into your clash of clans account on your new phone and pick up?

I never linked my CoC account to my gmail on my old phone and I forgot about that and downloaded CoC on the new phone and signed in with my gmail account, making the new phone CoC profile the default one on my gmail account. Now I can't use google plus to transfer properly.

Thanks everybody for the help. I found out HTC has an app that transfers all the stuff I needed, except apps, which isn't a huge deal. I can just download the apps manually. Hopefully I get me CoC account working.

Apps are easy to reinstall as long as they're through the Play Store

I've also used the SMS backup that alarson recommended and it works very well.

Voicemails . . . aren't those on the carrier's end?
