Hope Tristan Enaruna keeps his head up. He only played about 9 minutes in the game today, yet still contributed solidly. 4 points, 1-2 from the field, made both free throws, two rebounds and a steal. He's an important piece to this team and we don't have much depth.

Just hope he'll keep his head up and know that Cyclone Nation has his back and is pulling for him. I think he's an excellent player, with a lot of skill and talent and should get some more minutes. Everyone's playing well on this team though which makes it hard to get minutes, so hopefully he's content enough but will keep fighting to get better every day and get more PT.

Enaruna has been effective in the minutes he has received. But it is hard to argue with the success this team is having and TJ's distribution of playing time. Tough to argue with giving big minutes to Hunter, Brockington, Kalscheur and Grill.

But in Big12 play I think we will need play more big lineups with a combination of Conditt, Enaruna or Kunz. But minutes are tough because TJ seems committed to giving Gabe minutes to get his offense back on track. And even that seemed to work in the last 10 minutes of today's game.

I’d like to see more minutes with Kunc and Enaruna on the floor together.

I'd like to see a little of that too. So far, none of us is in a position to complain with this team. TJ and staff, and the players have been unbelievable. It's awesome and easy to cheer this team on.

BUT..... I would also love to see a little more of this. One time I thought it would have been perfect to have both Kunc and Enaruna together was that Jackson St. game. They were sagging off Conditt at the elbow / top of the key and basically guarding 4 with 5 and clogging the lane for cutters and drives. You put Enaruna or Kunc in that high post and either can hit that jumper or at least be a threat all night that the other team can't sag off. We had like a 5 minute spell against Jackson St. with Conditt and Kunc as the bigs and struggled to score during that spell mightily, maybe at all. We really struggled to score that game and didn't hit 50. Just a thought that I'd like to see those two on the floor at the same time. It might come out of necessity in coming games if Conditt gets in foul trouble.

Either way, hope he stays positive.

I'm not saying anyone is wrong, but its hard for me to think the reason some are suggesting that he's not producing more is because he hasn't been given enough of a chance. There's got to be a valid reason others are earning more minutes. Admittedly I havent focused on just him as if he's not as strong on defense as the others. And does he have a mid range or outside shot? I guess I've only seen him with layups or transition buckets, w/good body control, plus decent rebounding.

Kunc is earning minutes with his play on both ends of the floor. He does a lot that does not show up on the stat sheet. I don’t know anyone who’s watched us this year could say we’re not better with him in the floor. Also, Grill has improved as of late. He is also earning minutes. I don’t know if it’s as much Enaruna disappointing anyone as it is two guys off the bench commanding minutes with how they’ve been playing.

It’s hard to argue with the results of the current lineups and playing time. Who do you take minutes from to give to Enaruna??

But as others have said, he’ll have plenty of opportunities in Big 12 to establish himself.

he'll get his opportunity. the bulk of the available minutes graduate after this season.

I think TJ has and will continue to give minutes to the guys that can score points. Grill was hot today, Kunc has been consistent and a good shot. There are going to be games where those two guys are not going to be physical enough defensively, and Enaruna will get more time. TJ does a great job of subbing. Enauna will get his chances.

I think today's minutes had more to do with Grill's hot shooting than anything else.

Let’s hope he’s ready when we need him, despite not getting much PT when we don’t. And that the communication good between he and the staff.

The easiest way is to play Enaruna more is to play him with Kunc when Conditt goes to the bench.

I think the roles are becoming rather clear regardless of the starting lineup --

"CORE SIX"
---
Hunter
Grill
Kalscheur
Brockington
Kunc
Conditt

These six will play as much as fatigue and foul situation will allow. Even if he is not starting, I think Grill's minutes are going to be comparable to TH, GK, and IB's in the Big 12 as a sixth man.

BENCH ROTATION
---
Jackson
Enaruna

I know Enaruna is starting right now, but Kunc has outperformed him and thus eaten heavily into his minutes. These two will fill in most of the minutes the core six cannot play for whatever reason.

BREAK GLASS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY BIG MAN = Jones

NOT IN ROTATION = Walker and any walk-ons

I think Conditt, Enaruna, and Jones all got short minutes on purpose today.
It seemed to me that TJ used the game to test out a four-guard lineup. The four big guys played a total of 55 minutes. If my math is right that means for 20+ minutes we had four guards on the court together, typically with Kunc or Conditt.

I went back and looked at several other box scores and that's by far the fewest combined minutes for our forwards. Most games are over 70.. So today was trying something different, maybe in an attempt to kickstart some offense. I'm sure we'll go small in Big XII play often depending on the opponent, but against Baylor in a couple weeks we'll likely need a lot more minutes from big guys, and I'm guessing Enaruna will see more time then.

I agree with the comments in here that his PT is impacted more by the good play of others, not that he's been a train wreck.

He's a big guy that moves very fluidly and so can guard multiple positions; that's very useful. But he is not a high-skill guy on the offensive end right now. It seems like he CAN shoot it a bit but doesn't hunt shots and he's had some trouble finishing.

I think TJ and staff have been masterful in how they've used players' skills and have distributed the minutes.
