Hey my mother-in-law stopped in Ames on her way to Des Moines in the fog a few weeks a go, stopped at the Kum and Go near West Town Pub and asked the girl working where Ames was since she was lost. And she drives this route about twice a month.......

Sad huh....

She also has a hard time remember to put the rear hatch back down on her suv when she puts something in there. Drove down all of University in DSM once with Christmas gifts sitting on the each ready to fall out.

Some people have zero sense of direction.......I mean zero! Not a surprising story.

I would guess they got on highway 59 thinking they were on I45 and just kept driving.

I knew a fella that was driving home from Ames to quad cities area. He realized he was lost when he saw the "Welcome to Missouri" sign. :twitcy:

I ended up in Gary, Indiana once on my way from Ames to Chicago. Of course that might have had something to do with the mini keg we had in the van...

That's like saying I was on my way to Des Moines and ended up in Ankeny. So sad you had to back track like 10 min.

A coworker told a story one time of two brothers going to U of IL in Champaign.

They were driving back to the Quad Cities, but instead of getting on I74 going west, they got on I-57 going north. They finally figured out something was wrong when they got to Joliet. The saddest part was, instead of just getting on I80 West, they turned around and drove BACK to Champaign on I57 to catch I74 back.

Awesome. Seriously, what's so hard about looking at a map? The gf refuses to and will only rely on her iPhone's GPS. Fun stuff when it loses contact and she becomes hopelessly lost. :twitcy:
