Maybe, but this was a pretty fun one to watch. I think this is the 2nd or 3rd year in a row where the college dunk contest has been better then the NBA All-Star Weekend Dunk contest.

New rule for dunk contests: call traveling, out of bounds, and eliminate props. If these guys practiced dunks that could be used in the games then maybe we'll see fewer missed ones. What they're doing nowadays isn't at all relevant to basketball.

Agree. The NBA has turned into, "how can I make an extra buck by having one of my advertiser's logo/product be used in the dunk?"

That's a bad idea. Talk about boring.. The whole point of a dunk contest is to see the creativity and just how freaky athletic these guys actually are when they have the chance to be. Might not be relevant to the game of basketball at all but if they were to do what you suggest, they might as well just play a game of basketball.

I think you completely missed the point of having a dunk contest.

They need to be dunking into a peach basket instead of these new-fangled rims. And it should be a lay up contest. No dunks allowed.

I should have added, I won't deny it can be fun to watch. For me, wanting to watch lost momentum after the novelty dissipated.
