I just transfered here and am trying to figure out how to get to school. At iowa state you could drive to hilton and take cy-ride in. I was wondering how uni does it because i contacted the parking unit and they were not very helpful. im just figuring out what the best way to get to school is and i have no ideas yet. thanks for any help

The campus itself is still pretty walkable. Assuming you are living off campus, if it isn't walking distance, look to see where most of your classes are, and park as close as you can, in a university lot.

I know that wasn't very helpful, but UNI is not a huge campus, you can walk from from the Ed Center to the Library in 5 minutes.

yeah i do live off campus, its not within walking distance. I dont want to have to buy a parking permitt if i dont have to. i was also curious if you were allowed to park in the unidome lot

Park off campus, on a street that you don't have to move every hour and just walk. It's such a small campus and you can find great parking spots only a couple blocks away. Don't even waste your time looking for spots in student parking.

WALK. There is a reason that the campus doesn't have a bus. It is small. I lived in Bender back in the mid 90's and the business building was the farthest from me and happened to be where I was always heading. And it still was not more than a 5 minute walk.

You will find that walking on UNI's campus from a parking spot surrounding campus is pretty fast. I lived with my UNI buddies while going to Wartburg and it took me the same amount of time to drive from CF to Waverly as it did for them to find a decent parking spot near their building. Save time and just walk.

yeah walking from there is not possible...just graduated in december...i always parked on the street next to all my buildings...it doesnt work for all of them but you can for some. they dont have meters on the street anymore because too many students were complaining. they do have a 2 hr time limit and try not to park too much longer or you will definitely get a ticket.

I loved UNI, but good luck finding any ISU fans.:no6xn:

Spend the money, get a parking pass - because 2-3 UNI parking tickets will costs the same as a parking pass. Then park behind the buidling that used to be Rocky Rococco's Pizza (i think it is a book and supply store now). Then it is about a 2-3 minute walk to the business building.

If you don't get a parking pass you will spend 15 minutes everyday looking for a "free" parking spot.
