UNI vs. ISU - thoughts/predictions?

No...people don't define a coach by one game. You do. And he could have played Young...what three games earlier?

You claim Jacobson is a "great" coach." Are you claiming in his 11 years he has not done the same things? In his 5th and 6th year (they stay 4-5 years at UNI and they take longer to develope) he finished 4th and 3rd in the Missouri Valley.
Do you honestly think Jacobson hasn't made poor in game adjustments...I'll give you Saturday as a great example of poor game plan and adjustments

You have a consistency issue with criteria for naming a "great" coach. That makes you seem petty and over critical of Prohm

You're fishing and we've been through this. I am not on here enough to have a continuous conversation that gets nowhere. We can talk about what he inherited vs other coaches and missteps or not, etc. etc. Bottom line is, I have my opinion, you have yours. He continues to excel at ISU in the next couple years and I will gladly change my mind. You constantly trying to further this without any change in our conversation isn't beneficial.

You keep talking about how slow we started this year but I didn't expect us to be 8-2 right now. Did you? You obviously don't like Prohm for some odd reason because nobody here is calling him "the next great thing".

1. Purdue loss-and this one game is the BIGGEST issue he has
2. PLaying Young earlier- by about 3 games
3. starting slow- which I am still looking for clarification as to what he considers starting slow and why starting slow while winning and developing players is a bad thing

Last year was his second year and iSu finished with a better record, a Big 12 Championship and a higher Big 12 regular season finish than he did in year 1 after losing Niang and Nader.

Your slow start comment makes no sense. I asked you to clarify it and you never did

2015-16- 12-1 in the non con with one loss by 2 points and an injured Naz
2016-17- 8-3 with losses to Gonzaga, Cincy and Iowa. Gonzaga(finished #2) loss was by 2, Cincy loss was by 1(finished #22) and Young had an injured hand

This year I can get but I think everyone figured we would start slow with all the new pieces but even then, Lard and Talley suspensions. Talley being hurt and Brase coming back from knee surgery.


I guess I don't get the issue if they start slow, are trying different combinations, teaching guys roles and are still winning games.

I'm sorry but I just hate the "he inherited a great team" argument. Yes he inherited a great team at Murray...but he also helped to build and coach that team as he was an assistant from 2006-2010 and then took over in 2011. He won there because he is a talented coach and a great leader. Because he was so good at Murray he earned an opportunity to coach here with a talented team. It was NOT an easy situation to walk into here. Replace a legend and inherit a talented team with the associated high expectations....not everyone could do what Prohm did.

Prohm is really starting to prove himself now that he has his players and his recruiting looks solid. We are in great shape and am glad we are keeping the success going post Hoiberg.

I'm not a big fan of him either, but it's hard to argue the accomplishments.

Granted, FBI hasn't released what they found on him yet...

Michigan St started slow last year and lost to Purdue at home AND on the road. I just don't trust Izzo

He did lose back to back first round games against Bradley and Bucknell in 05 and 06. Thats my biggest issue with him.
