Which young players did you enjoy seeing the most? I thought Hunter #40 looked jacked up and Campbell seemed to greet him with high enthusiasm coming off field. Tyler Miller played ok in spot minutes as well.

One of my favorite things from the night was the fact that 2nd team defense looked almost exactly like the 1st team defense. That unit is stacked.

Not sure I agree with this. I thought the backup DBs looked good, but I was less than impressed with the DL and LB. Bailey looked good, but he's a senior. The second unit looked like they were running around with their heads cut off, but that's probably to be expected.

It is to be expected. They all played at the same time. Haha

If they were to sub in on a normal rotation, there would be starters around them making their lives a whole lot easier.

On any given Saturday, you see teams in this situation (Like OU/NU yesterday), and inevitably the team at the 1-yd line has some kind of play action/wide run/etc. that gets an easy TD. ISU doesn't seem to have a play like that, and defenses probably know that, which makes it all the harder to pound a back through the line when the defense knows what is coming.
OU runs the RB out of the backfield for a dump off pass at the goal that has worked against us. Used same play to score easy TD against Neb.

We used a similar action last season when Akers finally got his TD. Brought him in motion, faked to the RB, and hit him on the outside. It's almost impossible for a defense to stop because they have to sell out on the run. We've seen Iowa leak the FB and TE in these situations for decades. It should be in every team's playbook.

Good point.
At times we are good at these nuances, but I think the nuance escapes us at times, particularly when we’re trying to get bully ball rolling to 5mph. But it’s perfect for Purdy’s arm.

I wonder if Sanders can be used in that Akers motion role to get him on the field more. Silas looked to have “it”, given still coming back from an ankle injury, but we’ll have to see it against a real defense

To your point, despite clearly being more talented, it was 14-0 late in the 2nd quarter, with UNLV having the ball. That won’t cut it against any decent team.

What we did in the latter stages against a team with bad culture and quit isn’t that useful Imo.

Like every year, it was nice to see Manning slowly start to recognize what we do well. One would have hoped he would know Day1 given the returning starters.
Actually not all that concerned about the time and score. This team isn't explosive offensively. Their MO is being effecient and TOP. Moving the ball methodically that end up in scores or changing the field is what the offense needs to do. With this defense 2 TD leads should be game over.

Why should the targeting have stuck? I guess you know more than the replay officials.
Replay officials know now more then each other. That would have been targeting in any other game. Just like all the holding calls against UNLV got called this game but didn't vs Iowa. Guess these officials know more than the ones in the Iowa game.

Very clear you don't know targeting rules and interpretation of such rules. Again, please tell me why the targeting was rejected.

I know the same hit would have called targeting in other games. Why do think officials are infallible?

Except when the offense is sloppy e.g Iowa game.
Really - didn't know that. You mean u can't have three turnovers in side your twenty and win a game? Thanks for informing this board of such happening.

You mad that I don't agree with you? Why do you care that I have a different opinion?
Good answer - u said it was an opinion. How u stated them was reflective a fact....."I know, etc."

I loved a bunch of reserves got time. Seems with all of our close games don't get beyond the 2s much. They put in a lot of work in practice so great their family can see them on tv, etc.
