Did the ref throw the pick when a completion puts them in FG range?
This thread is about the PI. If a there was clear PI on 3rd and 13 in OT and it wasn’t called for Iowa State we would melt the **** down. This site would have to shut down.

The kicker still has to make the kick and the clock management was horrible but they got jobbed on that particular call.

USC fans can blame one thing for his loss... Lincoln Riley. He's awful.

I get really tired of people blowing off referee maleficence all because "Team X didn't do enough to win the game". Should USC not screwed up on their end? Of course. But the refs blowing obvious calls is inexcusable - especially when the call determines the outcome of a game. And us ISU fans have experienced this far too often (and sadly some people would rather blame the team instead of being upset at the ref blowing a call that would have won the game).

The thing you all want to blatantly ignore is if the ref had gotten the call correctly then perhaps the team WOULD have done enough to win the game. No team should have to fight the refs on top of their opponents.

It was clearly PI

It was but outside of that Riley's OU teams flinched and were frauds and USC looked to do the same today.

The weird calls/non calls need to stop though.

Missed calls happen. Holding can be called every play. It’s part of the sport and literally nothing can be done about it.

ah yes - let the excuses start rolling in for them not doing their jobs: "missed calls happen... holding can be called on every play..." sounds like you're one of those that believes "the human element of refereeing makes the game awesome!' I generally hate Mike Greenberg as a journalist and a sports personality, but there's one thing he says that I will always 100% agree with: "The human element stinks".

Holding? Sure. But the Penn St defender was in the process of tackling when the ball was still yards away.

Take a step back from your “missed calls happen” and ask yourself. If that was Higgins or Noel in that exact situation in OT would you just shrug and say “missed calls happen”?

It’s the only way sports exists so yea, it might not be perfect, but you deal with it and overcome it. USC had their chance in regulation and threw it away.

An egregious PI miss on a key play is a completely different thing than the old “holding can be called every play” cliche.
