Isn't it sad that Va Tech's 3RD STRING kicker is better than both of ISU's kickers? Let's hope Netten can bring some stability next year.
Guyer did have a strong second half to the season to finish out his college career.
Stanford's first string is equal or worse.
Its our own fault as ISU fans. We as fans should be breeding and raising kickers to fix this problem. I for one plan to force my children to kick from the time they can walk. I look forward to beating them when they miss.
The only thing i havent figured out is if they end up hating me, which they will, what keeps them from signing to Iowa. Unless of course i start them in school early and they graduate at 17, then they have no choice. Excellllllent.

This year was not particularly bad for ISU kickers. Guyer was very accurate from short range. It is a nice luxury to have Mahoney boot it on kickoffs and long FGs, plus some very very important onsides.
We need improvement at this positition, big time.
However, I can't think of any games that kicking cost us this year, so that, in a way, is improvement.

How many times has the kicking game won games this year? A la onsides/games decided by less than 3 points via field goal?
I guess I should edit this...how many times has the kicking game had a hand in winning games this year. I'm a firm believer that a team wins and looses games, not a single player.
