My wife and I are going to Vegas in September with another couple. The other couple has never been there. What are your suggested "must see" and "must do" things in Vegas for first time visitors?

Bellagio Fountains.

A time to say goodbye is the best fountain show. If you go and it's a different song, stay for the next one it will definitely be worth it to see the fountain show with the song Time to say goodbye.

I could probably convince my wife to go there, but it would be uncomfortable for me because I wouldn't know if I could look or if I have to stare at my wife the whole time and tell her she's prettier.

It really depends on what you like, the fountains are nice, alot of the shows are good, just hanging by the pool and enjoying the scenery isn't bad. If you like German food and beer, we had a good time at the Hoffrau House (sp?). Go when the guy is playing the accordian and riccola horn.

I've been to Vegas 5 times and the best times were always just hanging out gambling, eating, and drinking with friends. Oh and when I got married out there.......

Do a show or two. Broadway quality. Any of the Cirque du Soleil shows are very good, but KA is at the bottom of my list. Beatles Love is very good, as is O or Mystere.

If you are staying on the strip, spend an evening downtown. You can walk from casino to casino and gambling is cheap.

Great restaurants everywhere.

If you are looking for a party, Ditch Friday at the Palms pool or Rehab at Hard Rock Cafe pool are fun.

Hoover Dam is good if you want a break.

One of the cheapest places I've eaten in Vegas and some of the best food was PF Changs at Hard Rock Casino. Gambling there is expensive, high table stakes, but PF Changs was cheaper than eating at a Sbarro in a food court @ Ballys.

Last time I was out there the wife and I took the trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel. It wasn't a whole lot of money and the view was great. I would also include another vote for the Bellagio fountain. I could watch that all day.

If you are adventurous, do the rides on top of the Stratosphere. We did those, I don't know if I would do them again. Mainly b/c I didn't **** myself the first time, I don't want to press my luck.

If you like to golf, take the trip up to Mesquite and play golf at Wolf Creek. The most amazing golf course I have played.

Take a walk along the Strip from Mandalay Bay to the Venetian at night. You don't need to spend money. Go inside different hotels.
Freemont Street.
Eat: buffet in Bellagio is really good.

I agree with the gun range. It was ALOT of fun and the wife loved it.

Also check out "Tix-4-tonight" on the strip for discounted show tickets. Best deals in town. If you can get tickets for Penn and Teller I strongly recommend it. Very good show with comedy and some edge of your seat stuff. Nothing like a nail gun in a crotch to get your blood pumping. :wideeyed:

This. The wife and I saw this the last time we were in Vegas. Very entertaining. The fishbowl was probably my favorite part for several reasons.
