Nailed it! Look at some of the programs around the country that envy what we have. People, including myself, are upset because we care, not because we we hate staff or players.

But it is pretty easy to read some of the **** you post and it doesn't come across as because you care.

Lots of people get bent out of shape on this board if someone insults them. If I say that someone isn't an Iowa State fan, they get mad. So we expect 20 year olds to understand fans telling them that they suck, but we can't deal with it on a message board when it comes to ourselves?

I think there is a big difference between being real and being an *******. There are plenty of ******** out there on social media.

I don't think anyone should ever @ players but if a player goes out searching that information, that's their choice.

Dude, if you honestly cannot understand the hypocrisy of calling people "morons" while simultaneously complaining about others behaving in a "holier than thou" fashion than you are beyond help.

I don't know how old you are; you may or may not be younger or older than I am. But whatever your age is...Grow. Up.

Much like the haters, you also need to let this guy go. Ignore button and move on.

But that goes back to a lack of understanding of what is actually happening. There’s a lot more that goes in to coaching decisions that we don’t see. We only see the games, we don’t know what happens in practice, what happens in film, or even who might be carrying an injury that needs to be managed. If a fan truly thinks they can out coach Prohm (or even a girls HS BBall Coach) based on what they see for four hours a week vs living it day in and day out then they are delusional.
Maybe we cant outcoach Prohm but we see someone outcoach him every game night of every week. So is it so hard that we think there might be someone better for the job?

Id love to hear who you think that is, why you think that, and your plan for making it happen.

Has anyone actually found a negative post that was directed at the players? I hear all this "think of the children" conversation but no evidence of anything actually happening.

I guess I believe conditt.

Twitter is a cesspool. I waste enough time on here I don't need that crap.
This is why I don't Twitter. This and the fact that I know that nobody cares about my opinions. Well, that's not entirely true. Sometimes people care about my opinion on federal contracting regulations but those people are only federal contracting nerds so we don't really count.

Exactly I don’t understand why people think since we don’t spend all day coaching we are unable to criticize. If you paid me to coach I’d probably spend more time on coaching things.

You can criticize all you want but I don’t know why people that criticize everything think their criticisms are 100% spot on every time.

I get that people are probably going too far. However, this program is going to be dangerously close to apathy level if we ha e the season I think we will. Want to go to the KU game Wednesday? Tickets are available for 18 bucks on stubhub. This fan base has zero expectations right now.

I'm probably changing my phrase this week to "Kansas, have mercy."

And I don’t understand why people that don’t coach assume they know all.

Ok, lets break it down. AD needs to start talking to donors that care about basketball and see if he can wrangle up the resources to buy out Prohm. If you can then proceed to step 2.

Step 2. Evaluate mid major coaches that have enough years of sustained success at their universities to be ready to make the move to the next level. There are several good ones. Youth is a key characteristic as the ISU job requires a lot of leg work.

Step 3. Hone in on three candidates, interview them all, and then pick. If you love what Prohm did before he came here and you want a coach that can put players in the league you have to look at Matt McMahon from Murray State, Ja Morant is going to be the rookie of the year. He has been a part of that staff since 2011 when Prohm became the head coach. He can find the talent and get it ready for the next level, and looks to have been a huge driver for the success of that program during and after the CSP days.

Satisfied.

Cool. Like I said I am not doing the search. And maybe the team responds or we simply don't have the resources. But McMahon has been involved with several players that became pros with few offers out of HS(I think Murray St was Morants only offer).

If you like what Marshall was doing at WSU, go after his former assistant Steve Forbes. the guy is a winner. I would rather hang my hat on wins that drafted prospects anyways. The point is we shouldn't feel locked into a coach. We are likely going to have two losing basketball seasons in the last 3 years after this one.

Just did a quick Google search on Forbes. Interesting career. He has been under quite a few good coaches in Pearl, Marshall, and Gillespie. Two of those are shady coaches, but they got results.

You’re going to hire another Murray State coach? Seems far fetched.

Lol. That was terrible. This just proves my point.
