Walmart Plus?

hello. we signed up for walmart plus at first launch.

it was great at first. could get delivery next day 8 am. after the first 2 orders the times are now 3 - 4 days out.... we are gonna ditch it.


I also wish the delivery people were actual walmart employees but nope. just like doordash. random people.


we might try hyvee pick up and get back on the blue apron train.

I don't know about that, but I loved ordering online and picking it up., but the pandemic pretty much screwed that up. Everything we wanted to order would show as out of stock, but you'd walk into the store and it would almost all be there. Really annoying.

We still have the Schwan's man stop. Don't trust Wal-Mart to pick out my stuff. Transferred all of our prescriptions to a local pharmacy with a drive up window.

We had done the Wal-Mart order and pickup thing a while back because it was the most efficient for us. We did have issues with items that they would select - such as produce that was iffy (nothing you'd notice when picking up, but getting into it a day or 2 later and finding something mushy or bruised). It worked for the most part, but then a new grocery store opened up 5 minutes from the house, so we've just been hitting that up.

I've been incredibly unimpressed with my online Wal Mart experience. Maybe it's a local issue. But I won't be trusting Wal Mart+ (at an added cost) any time soon.

I've never tried ordering from Walmart and there is only one thing I buy there. Just went online and put together an order for pickup today. Go to check out and it just gives me an error.

Walmart pickup has been awful during Covid. Going through the bags when you get home is crapshoot, you have no clue what you're really going to get. I work with a vulnerable population that is just too at risk to go to the store so we do 100% online, we are basically forced to use walmart because the people we serve are on a fixed income and can't always do target or hy vee on their budget. It's awful and some of our people have severe cognitive deficits that make explaining why they didn't get exactly what they ordered extremely difficult.

This is where the rural areas are in more difficult situations than larger towns. Delivery from grocery stores are not an option. A few will do pick up, but not even half in smaller towns. Local pharmacies do not have drive thru because they locked between buildings. Many businesses you are doing well to have them do curb side pickup. If you are in the country, food delivery isn’t an option so you must go in. Mobile CC payment is rare so you then either have to go inside or they will run back and forth. While we may have more space, it actually works to a disadvantage in several facets.

At walmart there was a bike for my preschooler for $100 online and in store it was $150. A decade ago stores used to not honor online prices but they do now. ...So I'm standing in-store directly in front of the bike and order it online and it says it will take 3-4 days to arrive.

Needless to say I don't order it online but I take it up to the front and show the cashier the online price and she says they can't honor that. Then I ask if I order it online right now can I just take this one. And she says no.

So I don't buy the bike.

We are Target people. My wife uses their pickup all the time and I think we have received the wrong items maybe once or twice. If you have to go back, they’ll give you a gift card to make up for it. I’m not sure how much cheaper Walmart really is after the 5% red card discount.

You can get a red card that isn’t a credit card as well. Ours acts like a debit card that just automatically pulls money from our Veridian account.

Do you have InstaCart in your areas?

That has been by far the best option for me in getting groceries. With Amazon Prime (especially Whole Foods) in 2nd place.
