ISU coaches imo got caught up in their own defensive game plan. OSU gave up passing yards to the illusion that it was 'there' when they were still limiting what ISU could do.
Yeah, I definitely agree and to be fair the passing game was somewhat open.... Brock threw the ball for quite a few yards and it was effective, but the interceptions really changed the game. It was working just enough for the coaches to stick with it.

Still you can't throw the ball that much and not expect some mistakes.

Way up there
The inexplicable INT's from Purdy late in the 2019 game were the difference.

Them putting up 400 yards of offense and 3 TD plays of over 50 yards was a pretty big deal as well. They averaged 10 yards every time they threw and about 5 yards per rush. We did a good job keeping the ball away from them but as far as their offense vs our defense, we slowed them down a bit but we never got them out of their gameplan, which is what Heacock's defense is designed to do. Gundy matches up with Heacock better than any coach in our league. Their offense is built to play against defenses like ours, it has been since before this staff was here.
