Updated with Hjelmstad verbal to Utah. ISU was top 8, but I don't think we were among her last group of finalists.
She was a top 50 player and the Utes have had some success lately. So much success their home attendance is listed on average around 4,500.

Adding Beaty as a 1 right now, but the offer would indicate higher interest than that.

She committed to Clemson in November but reopened her commitment in March following a coaching change.

Cool. Guessing since her decommitting was two months ago that she'll be deciding soon. Following your tip I do see she has a number of Big Ten offers but none from a team currently as good as ours. PT vs being on a better team? Been having a good start, per the Twitter, in AAU this late spring.

5'7 Point Guard from Nashville.

She's been busy on X (Twitter), posting offers from Pitt, Arkansas, Missouri and Mississippi State in the past 24 hours...

I was searching for recruiting info last night and came upon an article from ESPN on "fast-risers" in the Class of 2025. I was surprised to see a young lady from Iowa on that list (and ranked #41 Overall), and more surprised it doesn't appear ISU has recruited her.

Libby Fandel (ESPNW No. 41)
Xavier HS (Iowa) | All Iowa Attack EYBL

Fandel has always shown a knack for understanding the flow of the game and making fundamental plays. She has become more assertive and provides a lot of value to a loaded All Iowa club team: At the last EYBL stop, she shot 47.6% from 3, 87.5% from the free throw line. She has a positive assist/turnover ratio as well and contributes nearly five rebounds a game. As a 6-foot guard/wing, she also plays volleyball, so the promise of potential if she becomes a full-time basketball player is solid.

Good "find". That jump in the rankings is interesting. Until this spring she only had mid-major offers per the social media monster. She's visited Iowa but no offer from them. Chatter on Iowa board is she is maybe a backup if they miss on some other '25 and '26 recruits. Being a CR kid she might like an Iowa offer over KU, TCU or WI. Maybe over the summer AAU season she'll get more offers with that ranking.

Sidebar: Not sure when ESPN updated their 2025 top 100 but Hawk commit A. Deal was #12 and is now #21 probably because she committed to Iowa and not one the "elites", it's sort of how ESPN rolls.
