Just wondering if any weather experts could chime in? I'm planning to come to the game tonight from northern Iowa down I-35. Will it be safe travelling? It looks to me that most of the snow will be east of I-35. However, I'm still somewhat concerned about the strong winds blowing the little snow we'll get. Any advice or info would be great!

I'm not too worried, an inch of snow and the warm temps we've had lately that the ground hasn't froze yet isn't going to make it a mess.

They keep upping snow totals for Eastern Iowa...I've seen 3-6" in the CR area (more in QC). Des Moines is supposed to see 1-2" now with fairly high probability. Winds will likely make it crappy for travel visibility wise with the light snow.

I planned on heading to the game this evening as well. It doesn't look too bad but I can already tell that the wind is going to suck. With a couple inches of snow it could be difficult.

While the amount of snow isn't going to be a concern, it will likely contribute to pretty slick roads when combined with the wind and the warm ground temperatures. The snow will be more likely to create icy roads.

I would be really careful on the roads tonight - could be a black ice situation.

If you end up making it to the game, don't worry if you forget to check the weather for the drive home. There is a point in the game where they give you the drive home forecast :jimlad:

Don't worry about it, just let your husband or boyfriend drive

Des Moines Weather Forecast and Conditions

Hmm. I keep seeing 30% chance of precip and "No significant snow accumulations". Granted, it's Iowa and who knows what will happen weatherwise, but still.

Drive like a bat out of hell without the seat belts on for a quick eject once you arrive at Hilton.

Add 45mph winds and wind chills 0-10 below and it won't be pleasant in alot of areas tonight.
