I keep thinking I want to ump when I retire for Freshman games. 10AM for the 1st pitch would keep most of the parents away.

I umped 7th & 8th grade games for a couple summers in Ames. This was right on the cusp of youth sports getting nuts. I couldn’t imagine doing it now.

I agree that football is probably the best in that regard. Some distance from the parents would be good.
