What are one or two things (final record aside) that will make you a happy supporter of ISU football this year?

To answer this question for myself I am torn between two things.

  • Beating Iowa in Iowa City and ruining their 10-0 pipe dream
  • The defense becoming a true group of Bad A**es that no one has ever heard of

Will either of these happen ... who knows. But if they do I will be one happy camper. :v_SPIN:

Lots of people saying they have a great chance to start 10-0 with the easy schedule, before they get Wisky. I assume he means ruin that.

I'm not really sure. I usually go to each game hoping we can win, and if we lose I'm pretty bummed out. So, the more we win, the happier I'll be. Struggling to break into more detail.

I'll be excited for next year if we keep our coaching staff and some young guys step up and play really well this season.

Bowl game would make me happy. If that doesn't happen a win over Oklahoma would make me happy. If that doesn't happen, a win over Iowa would make me happy. If that doesn't happen either, I hope we average 40+ points and look cool losing our games at least. Although, that won't make me happy.

Improved scoring defense, improved scoring offense, fewer injuries, positive turnover margin, more sacks by our defense, and stay competitive in EVERY game. Oh...and beat the Hoks. Is that too much to ask?

Wins is the obvious answer, but I'd be happy with being in a position to win after three quarters. Blowouts are really discouraging.

And at the risk of sounding like a conspiracy fanatic, I'd also be happy with a game-deciding call going in our favor.

Overall I'll be disappointed with 5 wins. I'd be happy with 6 or more.

Individual things that'd make me happy throughout the season, regardless of season outcome.

  • Consistent quarterback play, specifically one quarterback as the guy the whole season
  • Above average performances by Lazard
  • Defense turning out to be consistent and not a liability
  • Beating any team with a pulse (but the higher up the conference ranks the better)

Things I'd be ecstatic about:
  • Beating Oklahoma (or Baylor if they end up being on top)
  • Offense and Defense make big jumps in play setting up a potentially better 2015

Bowl game and beat K State

This. Maybe a win over a top-level team like OU or something too after the team proves me completely wrong about their ability.

I have no idea why beating Iowa would be on someone's list for this.

Need some actual program changing situations, not some 3rd week 'rivalry' win.

Consistently scoring more points than the other team. Regardless of winning or losing, going to games is just a great time.

I want to see the O move the ball up and down the field and the D force TOs.

I'd be thrilled to beat Texas in Austin. (obviously OU as well, always good to beat iowa)

Something irking me about UT though. Kinda get the impression that now that Brown is gone and new coach in place, the fans are feeling they can reclaim some sort of birthright to national prominence.

Not as likely or remotely as easy, but it'd be nice for CPR to usher in the new regime in Austin the same way Coach Mac welcomed Ferentz over in iowa city.
