So this happens a lot, this is just one example of some dork calling a college aged kid out in public on social media. I get complaining about players on this site, although sometimes it's to much, but to go to a kids instagram (a kid you are such a fan of you follow no less) and message on a photo that he posted on his own page is not only uncalled for but incredibly sad. Here are the screenshots my buddy sent me.......

obviously this has a negative effect on the kids, so whats the point?

What kills me are the fans that comment on the official Iowa state athletic Facebook posts. A lot of them are just awful comments. Why do it?

Thanks for calling him out. People need to learn that this doesn't help anything. All it does is frustrate and antagonize. McKay isn't going to work harder because of that comment. But it could be a straw that breaks the camel's back. People remember and take to heart negative comments way more than positive.

It's despicable. These idiots should be shunned by real ISU fans.

These idiots need to be shouted down wherever they appear. Make em disable their accounts. Lesson learned.

Agree! Call these guys out, publicize their real names if known, make them accountable for their anonymous twitter muscles. Freedom of speech should mean he's man enough to own his remarks. My guess is he's not man enough for anything worthwhile.

Says the faceless guy on the message board.

The players have a choice whether or not to be on social media. There are pros and cons. That comment was pretty tame really. If you are concerned about whether Twitter comments "break the camels back" of our players you need to seriously evaluate your priorities and we need to seriously evaluate who we recruit.

I'm faceless because I'm ugly. I'm anonymous because I don't want anyone to know me should I say something really offensive. But I haven't posted anything that would require me to hide my secret identity. And it's Not batman. Ok, it's batman. But not the one you're think about.

Was waiting for the tough guy to show up. Being on social media doesn't mean you should have to take negative BS from fans. Why tweet hate out to players? What good does it do?

Stupid on his part and dumb of McKay to respond to this guy. McKay is worse than a girl with daddy issues when it comes to social media.

Yes actually it is very clear that if you have Twitter as a public figure that you have to take negative BS.

grown *** men shouldnt be messaging college kids negative crap directly to them, I dont care who they are or who you are.

I don't have Instagram but don't people have to be your friends to comment, or you have to opt to make your account open to public comment?
