So, has anyone else seen that one of the prizes on wheel of fortune this week will be a trip to the Iowa State Fair. I like the Iowa State Fair as much as anyone else here, but seriously? Who wants to win that prize? A trip to IOWA? That SUCKS!!
I think it would be fine, if I am watching Wheel of Fortune, I am prob at a min. 65 years old. The state fair is perfect for that age range. Also, it has been voted one of the countries top destinations in the summer. If I didnt go every year, I would prob get pretty excited about it. Lots of people go on vacation to Iowa, there is lots to see and do, even just here in little ol Des Moines.

I respectfully disagree. Winning a trip to Iowa is crappy when compared to the trips they normally give away which usually include either tropical destinations or international travel. Other trips they will be giving away are the Minnesota, Texas, and New York State Fairs.
Look here Mr. Grumpy Pants--Iowa is a dang fine place to both visit and live. I don't know why you're so knuckleheaded about it right now, but please don't rain on the parade of millions of Iowans who are proud to live, work, and play here. I think we have a lot to offer.
Wayne: You will be whisked away to beautiful...Delaware.
Yeah, look at me...I'm in Delaware.
I kid. Not a bad deal, but they should make it mandatory for the winner to attend the 1st Friday, and stay all night.
See, this is what I don't like about the Iowa State Fair--all you kids and your beers. Can't we have a good time without drinking? Here is just a small sample of stuff to do at the fair that is way more fun than drinking beer:
Spin Art
cow chip throwing contest
Olde Time photos
Ye Olde Mill ride with your sweety
Petting zoo!

Not to mention some of these favorites:
Lemonade Shake Ups
Chainsaw Sculptures
Big Slide
Huge Sand Sculpture
Petting Zoo
okey dokey then. Apparently I am the only one in the "vacations in the midwest suck" camp. That's fine...lowering my head and cowering away now.
I already said Petting zoo!
But you forgot:
foot long corndogs
sky glider
reptile show
porkchop on a stick!
Hey buddy, turn that frown upside down! I'm super proud of you for having an opinion that you're willing stick with even though it's not a popular one. That, my friend, is called character. And character counts!
Also:
Fun Forest
Deep Fried Cheese Curds
Birthing Center
Big Boar
Petting Zoo

I too like the Big Boar.
I don't care for the Cheese Curds--they just give me a heck of a pickle when it comes to my digestive track
What/where is the Birthing Center?
Near the north entrance. You can see pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens, goats, ducks and probably other animals being born/hatching. As an added bonus, it is a short 10 minute walk from the petting zoo.
I'm pretty sure they did away with the Petting Zoo recently due to the potential of diseased animals.
And if its State Fair week, I would expect Iowa to be on there...isn't it the 2nd largest state fair in the US.
And am I the only one under the age of 30 that enjoys watching Wheel?
