Where was the cannon?

It was aimed at the Baylor bench during warmups and got thrown out for targeting.
The cannon guys are right in front of us, we asked & the pointed out a very large crack in the bottom base of the cannons barrel. Not safe to shoot is what they told us.
I heard it was under going maintenance, hadn’t been cleaned in years. Might be gone for the rest of the year. Supply shortages will delay it, needs new parts.
So are those guys official ISU employees who's job it is to do that?
Or just some guys who get permission to do it?
Forty years ago I seem to recall Triangle fraternity was the group responsible. Not sure if that is still the case.
"The cannon, operated by members of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity, is traditionally fired after every Cyclone touchdown or field goal. Additionally, it has been fired on kickoffs and was formerly fired during the Cyclone Marching Band’s playing of the “Star Spangled Banner.”Well shucks hope they get it fixed and return. It's been part of ISU FB for a long time.
