I don't buy the "lack of depth means we're tired" argument. Games are 40 minutes. Twice a week. 30+ games a year. The NBA is 82 games for 48 minutes. The only legitimate depth concern relates to foul trouble.

They've close plenty of times. They have won games, you know.
Last night wasn't about closing either.
Most fans have picked up on this teams late game struggles and the fact we only picked up 3 wins against the top 5 teams in the conference. You can still be optimistic if you want but those are two big red flags right there
This, x10000.
If ISU can two consecutive decent games out of "Bipolar Nadar" (3 rebounds and 4 turnovers in 38 minutes -- are you kidding me?), we can get out of the first weekend. But I doubt it.
I posted back in Dec. or so that "reasons were turning into excuses." This bullhockey about "they're tired" has risen to the top of this kind of rationaliziing. Especially to an ex-marine like me. They're 19-21 years old, for ___cks sake, all they basically have to do is go to class once in awhile, sign autographs, and play basketball. And: "It's a long season"?
How come it doesn't look so long to Kansas right now, or even Oklahoma, which was playing very poorly down the stretch themselves.?
As we await Selection Sunday, who are the teams you've watched this year that we wouldn't match up well against in the first two rounds? North Carolina and Kentucky are the top two I want to avoid. Gonzaga is a sleeper with good bigs that would give us fits too, I think.
All three were in Hilton also. It's a little concerning that they don't have a decent win away from Hilton all season. Edit: I guess there was the Cincy win. Their first round opponent should be beatable, but on a neutral court, it's hard to say.
I'm a firm believer that if they play well, and get that first round win, then I really like their chances in the second game. Iowa St, no matter their record, or issues, or depth is a matchup no team looks forward to on short notice.
He had 2 buckets and 1 called away last night. The travel in the 1st half which both announcers said was not a travel but a foul and basket. Then the charge in the 2nd half which again the announcers said should have been a foul and basket. That also led to the technical foul.
Both cases Hield was involved and the POY got the calls. Nadar was aggressive in the right spots, just didn't get the calls to go his way. That charge call was the turning point of the game.
What did I say? Foul trouble. Also, match ups. That's called strategy.
