Ok, with all of the recent woes of the program, I started to look back to the 'good old days' when ISU BB at Hilton was an event. Got me to thinking, if you had to pick only 1 ISU men's bb player as your favorite to watch in the last say 30 years, who would it be?

Marcus Fizer for me. Of course, it goes without saying that the '99 -'00 team was the greatest team I ever watched.

Willoughby was the most exciting player for me. An absolute stud with ice in his veins.

I wanted him to shoot every time he touched it and thankfully, he usually did.

My ISU years coincide with Fred Hoiberg, and I could never get enough of watching him.

That said, I couldn't get enough of most of the players on this list. But Fred's my sentimental favorite. I teared up when he hit the game-winner in the alumni game.

It's different for me, on the court it would probably be Hoiberg or Stinson, off the court Rahshon Clark for sticking around.

Klay Edwards. Persevered through Orr, Floyd, and Larry because he was a Cyclone first. We need a few more Klay's.

Jared Homan was a man.

I LOVED the way Kenny Pratt played.....to bad he is a turd of a human. Same goes for little guy guard who played with Victor Alexander from Waterloo.....forget name.

I also loved Justice and Ron Bayless. Stevie Johnson and Michael Nurse. Howard Eaton. All good guys.

One of my favorite games of all time was when we beat a highly ranked Kansas team in Hilton. I think Freddie scored our last 17 points, including a bunch of threes. And every time he scored the Great Pete Taylor would scream "Hoiberg shoots....GOOD AGAIN!" I was listening on the radio during my time in hell (Lincoln, NE). Brings a tear just remembering it.

Remembering the game, or Lincoln?

Loved Willoughby. He was a heck of a nice guy, too. He and Cato, Bankhead, Pratt, etc. would always hang out at Tazzles. Dedric was alway really cool.

Tinsley without a doubt. The guy never lost a home game, went 4-0 against Kansas, back-back Big 12 titles and led us to the elite 8.

Big time player.

I loved watching that team. They was a lot of fun to watch that is for sure. Didn't Fizer come in the year after Cato, Willoghby, and Pratt left? Imagine the kind of team ISU would have had if Fizer got there a year sooner or they some how had the chance to all play together. I hope ISU can get a team like that again someday.

Jack Sulivan - yeah I know I know, no D, but to watch him drop 3s from the corner still is fun to watch replays. That and he was beyond clutch on the free-throw line.
