Ohio St this season or Notre Dame last year? I imagine Ohio St getting slapped around if they were to play the likes of Alabama or Florida St. Thoughts?

Notre Dame, IMO...they had two losses last year before Alabama. Ohio State is 24-0, and their wins haven't been that close.

Notre Dame had no business being where they were last year.

Does anybody here think Auburn is overrated then too?

Why does Ohio St. get killed for a close win against a mediocre rival, but Auburn is excused for a fluke win against a mediocre Georgia team?

Because the SEC is the most amazing conference ever stacked with teams that could compete with NFL teams

Oh..and this...

I don't think Ohio State would have the issues playing in the SEC that the OP thinks they would have, this year. I think you have a few good teams on the top, the rest of the league is pretty crappy, imo. Kind of like every other conference this year. The hype machine is way overboard on the SEC. In the past, it didn't bother me quite as much, because they were a better conference. I just don't see it this year. There are as many bad teams in the SEC as there is everywhere else. And their elite teams don't look to be head and shoulders abover the competition like they have been in the past.

Everyone harps on OSU's schedule....take at look at FSU's. Truth is we really don't know how good FSU is....their signature win is a against a Clemson team that is once again over-rated.

Ohio State has no business being in the NC game, they've got some great players as always, but there's about a dozen teams around the country that would absolutely shred them in the big game.

Fla States schedule is barely rated tougher than OSUs by the computer.

Which computer? Everything shows FSU having the weaker SOS. And SOS really doesn't matter a whole lot when everything boils down...it is just a small factor in 1/3 of the BCS calculation that likely normalizes itself out with the different methods and factors used in other computer models. Being undefeated in a major conference should keep OSU where they are, and Jay Jacobs' embarrassing rant about being 'unAmerican' should alone keep Auburn out.

Not a real cogent argument. This is the case almost any given year in the BCS...which is why we are going playoff.

Everyone should be rooting against the SEC. Their spin machine creates a delusional perception which gets them ranked each preseason in a spot where they barely move since they don't play anyone out of conference, and all the conference teams they play are artificially ranked high as well.

You should welcome the SEC shut out of the last BCS NCG before we go into playoffs decided by an independent panel. Shine a little light on the preseason poll stuffing they do each year, and stop their 7 straight from becoming 8 before we get into it so that this tendency to hand them automatic opportunities in the NCG game will slow down.

From there, between FSU and OSU, honestly it is probably in our best interest to cheer for OSU to keep the perception of the ACC down, and given that we play a B1G team each year.

Someone has to be in the top 5. Alabama has won 3 out of the past 4 titles. I wouldn't call them overrated. Urban Meyer hasn't lost a game at Ohio State. I believe he's earned a number 1 or 2 ranking. These teams are better than everyone else. Not perfect. Doesn't meen they don't have they're own flaws.
