Wearing Iowa State gear to the bar the Thursday night before the game would just be obnoxious. Wear your colors on Saturday. Stand up straight with your shoulders back and if someone wants to get into your face stand your ground. Most people are all bark and no bite and just want to test you. Dont be obnoxious and drawing extra attention to yourself though.

LOL...Yeah, I heard that same BS when I first went to IC. Wear your colors. If you're 21+ and you go to the bars it isn't bad at all. I have only had one dude get in my face, but he was probably pushing .240 BAC, that is normal. I actually saw the same guy later that weekend after we lost in 2016, and he bought me a breakfast bomb (after his friend reminded him what he did)

Agreed. I’ve been going to this game since the 80s. Always worn Iowa State stuff and never had any more than good natured jabs. People who talk like it’s a war zone are probably the same pussies that say last weeks cancellation killed their enthusiasm.

It's a football game, not some gang warfare. You'll be fine wearing whatever. Shoot, I wore a hat with my brother's name and jersey number on it the swamp game at Kinnick when he missed what seemed like 47 field goals. Then I walked back to my buddy's apartment across town, in the rain, alone. If you can't take getting poked at, sure wear something else, but nothing bad is going to happen if you wear ISU gear.
