Wrong. We're new to success so bowls still matter.

If it’s the liberty bowl we’ve literally been there 3 of the last 9 seasons and the last two were frankly awful weather.

If your going to opt from bowl, certainly you opt out next week too. Why even play at okla? It’s one game, yes things can happen but being cautious for one single game. So dum.

I would have said I wouldn’t be surprised if Rose and Kolar would but if they are playing in the Senior Bowl I can’t imagine they would skip on a bowl game but who knows.

iowa state hasn't won many bowls, so I hope everyone sticks it out and finishes the season as I think it's good for their legacy

not a fan in general of the newer trend of sitting out of bowl games (seems to be a major downside of the playoff)

Sadly...that might happen! I certainly could see players sitting out a year to "train" or work with a personal coach. Now that said...I am referring to a top 10 QB selection, an elite level DL or someone of that nature. Hope that doesn't happen...but these days it is all about protecting the bank account (which I can't argue with). The NFL won't care...if they have tape...and the measurables line up...they will pick the kid!

I also agree with this

really our chances of a big 12 title went out the window after the tech game, so if you played today and are planning to play next week vs. tcu, there's really no reason to sit out the bowl game

While I guess I wouldn't blame them, I hope we don't have players opt out. Even Kolar and Hall, who would be the only ones that might be high draftees. And maybe Rose, because he's probably playing hurt right now.

Think it’s a question worth posing.

I’m primarily talking about Breece here. I think otherwise most players will play. But I would fully support him in particular opting out.

Too many risks being a top draft prospect at RB to risk it all on the Liberty Bowl. Maybe could argue for Kolar and Rose too if they’re dinged up already as is.

If I were Breece or Kolar, Rose or McDonald? heck yes. Why risk possible millions to play in the some butthole bowl?
I can't believe someone dumbed this post. Just shows you how ****** our world has become. Is this season a disappointment, yes, it definitely is. This is on the coaching, not the players who bust their ass every day so you can drink beer in a parking lot and yell at them during the game. Imagine how the players feel this season. This is the greatest team to ever play at ISU, they deserve a full send off no matter what the wins and losses are.

Anyways, good post. These players deserve everything we can give them.

"This is the greatest team to ever play at ISU"

No, it's not. Not even close. Last year's team was. This team is average at best.

I'll die on the hill that the Liberty Bowl trophy is one of the cooler bowl trophies. Still wish we were discussing Alamo or NY6 bowl possibilities. Oh well.
