It's an insane take to be mad at somebody else for raising your hopes.

Are you saying I should stop watching Hallmark movies?

What about my own aspirations to save the annual puppy show in a small mountain town with nothing but local markets and an old high school flame that I meet right as I'm making deep personal changes!?

31-92 career on threes, not bad for a big guy.

2023 at Seattle he shot 78/137 overall (57%), 22/56 on threes (39%), and 40/46 from the line (87%)
Both Chat and Dishon could shoot prior to Iowa State. Dishon solely in the mid-range/elbow in his past, but still, it was sort of puzzling to see TJ not utilize their strengths there.

At the end they had shared how a few players had been sent negative messages from "fans"

I hate that for the young men...but this is the wild new world we are in. Like when Hawkins from KSU was crying and mentioned the hate he received from fans and wish the amount didn't get out...i think it also is just a weird spot for fans....we can all agree no name twitter trolls are just NASTY in all parts of life.....but I think a lot of fans also probably DO get a little more frustrated now knowing likely most on the team make over a quarter million a year and a lot of that is based on fans being asked to contribute to make that happen.

Again, I don't want the students to get this "noise"...but I think the days are gone where we just look at them as "kids" (and I'll tell ya, I think MANY of our student athletes are still wonderful people who DO want to connect with fans and kids, but the purity certainly has been clouded)
Unfortunately the student athletes are having to grow up faster. Adulting can be hard (but it doesn’t have to be). In my role as a manager I am regularly shocked with how hard it is for grown ass adults to deal with very basic expectations…….as an example……showing up to work consistently and on time.

There are dumb comments, and there there is this. I wanted to point that out specifically rather than just drive by with a dumb button.

Their jobs are to flame interest in ISU athletics. They will always promote the upper end of the possible outcomes. It’s also standard fan behavior

We need them to do that. Historically, our brand has suffered because there hasn’t been any homer unbridled benefit of doubt in media

I tend to take comments from someone like Fran as a better expected value. His mention that we were a top 10 team with top 25 (top-40?) talent was an apt description. And that’s when we were healthy

A testament to the staff, as well as the players, for getting expectations and hype that surpass the inherent talent

I thought their discussion on the ‘impact’ of freshman today was spot on. However, with with revenue sharing and contract era moving forward, doesn’t that help a program like Iowa State that is competitive with money but not at the top? You still have to hit on a freshman prospect, but having them under a ‘contract’ for 2 years allows you to development them

Another thing Blum mentioned that I thought was a good point is the COVID era players coming to an end.

Yeah about time. I think if these contracts hold weight, you’ll see teams take either a year by year approach with 1 year contracts or a development approach and sign guys to 3 year deals where they can actually invest in them. Freshman will be more valuable after Covid year guys are out and for teams with limited resources

In the podcast Blum mentioned something about the amount of NIL Missiissippi has. He said "just look it up". @brentblum, how does a person find this NIL info? I tried, but can't find any definitive information.
You can look it up if they are non-profits on this site, although it is typically a year out of date.

I find ours, the Hoks, KSU, Texas Techs pretty quickly.
