My sister lives in Afton, IA, and looking for new tv and Internet service. Does anyone know if wind stream is a good idea? Thanks for any help.

Living in the middle of nowhere, windstream/iowa telecom/INS is about your only option. It is not a bad option.

I have their Internet and love it. Not a fan of their email but you can get an email address anywhere! Price for life but you have to have a home phone with it which I didn't need. They use Dish Network which I hate! But I do like my service. I just don't use the tv!

I would have her look into verizon. Whether it is with her phone being the medium or a mifi.

My parents have had Windstream for TV, landline, cell phones, and internet for many years. They have been very happy with Windstream.

Windstream bought Iowa Telecom, so we inherited Windstream. I was pretty happy with them until our internet went out yesterday and it's impossible to get a live customer service person on the phone. Windstream tells us our service is find, but call this other number for old Iowa Telecom customers. There, we just get a pre-recorded message that there is an unidentified problem in our area and there are no estimates when the issue will be resolved.
