Stats from the Iowa board poster; Seems like there are areas of improvement - FT%

Xavier Foster 7'0" jr Forward
15.6 ppg (2nd on team)
11.8 rpg (1st on team)
6.6 bpg (leads the state of Iowa in all classes)
59.0% FG's
28.0% 3ptrs
45.5% FT's
He’s going to love the space and pace of the Big 12 level.

There are always things that guys need to improve on. 7 foot guys that shoot 89% FTs are not real common. Mostly you are looking for them the be decent at FTs, shoot fairly well from in close, and to rebound and block/change shots. He is looking pretty good at the last two. His shot may improve as he gets older. Kid has grown so much, hard for those guys to keep up with the physical change and maintain the coordination level needed to shoot.

45% FT shooting is on the extreme low end. We're talking Chris Dudley and Azubuike (although before he got hurt, he was showing signs of getting near 60% - so sometimes practice can help improvement).

That's already begun. See posts 13 and 35 below. Thankfully I haven't lost all faith in my fellow Iowans as there are several posters that pretty much call them dumbasses. But yes, they are already laying the groundwork for "we passed" and "none committable offer". ....on top 50 prospect lmao.

Best part from that thread:

“I actually met Brackins in person back when he was trying to cut his teeth with the 76ers. Super great guy and definitely a legit 6'10. I'm 6'5 and he towered over me.

Anyway, I asked him what it was like playing for Doug Collins. He shared a funny story about a practice in which a player screwed up and Collins mistakenly thought it was Craig and started cussing him out. Craig was off to the side and sheepishly raised his hand and said, "Uh, Coach, I'm right here." Collins looked over and glared at him for a second, realizing the error, then barked, ‘Well, god d*****, Craig. That's something you would have done!’”

You get a like for a Chris Dudley reference.

It isn't much more than an hour from IC...
It isn't much more than an hour from Des Moines either.

I have to drive 92 through Oskie periodically for work, and I really appreciate the Jarrsma bakery outlet they have downtown. That's about as far as my opinion of the town goes.

I have a little inside information on this. I have heard and don't quote me on this because I have no knowledge on the subject that he loves ISU and is dying to commit.

This is a good summary of CF rumor mill
SIAP. Nice dunk by XF - the poor kid was just trying to do the right thing by taking a charge:

Hawks have pulled their offer from XF and have extended it to the kid that tried to take the charge. Apparently "Come play basketball with your new best friends" did not resonate as a recruiting pitch to Xavier.

Worked in Pella about 15 years ago. Their used to be a great place to get dirt cheap, massive breakfasts in Osky, but I can't remember at all what it was called. Pancakes, B&G, bacon, sausage in mass quantities. Would drive down there, drop a few bucks and pretty much not need to eat again for the rest of the day.

Not completely sure, but was it the family restaurant on the SE edge of town?
