I vote Red Barn in Melrose/Green Acres, that should bring the southern Iowa out of everyone on the tour.As usual...the tour completely ignores southern Iowa. They used to go to the casino in Osceola and now...nothing.
I'll be there too!I'll be in Waterloo next Monday, who's with me???
Come look for me! I’ll be the one in the cyclone hat!I'll be there too!
YES! That used to be my favorite part about the tailgate tourBring back the Cyclone Feud!
Feels like they go to the same places every year
Will do! I'll be the guy wearing an ISU shirt.Come look for me! I’ll be the one in the cyclone hat!
Hmm. Perhaps @ChrisMWilliams and @brentblum can find some way to make up for that lost opportunity? As usual...the tour completely ignores southern Iowa. They used to go to the casino in Osceola and now...nothing.
Midcrest Cyclone Club was host for the “Outings” in Creston’s Elks Club & then moved to Osceola’s Casino. 200 attended in Creston for a steak dinner & then 300 @ the Casino’s buffet. Johnny Orr & Jim Walden rotated as featured speakers in Creston and McDermott & McCarney in Osceola. We presented the AD with $5,000+ donation after the event. At the time, they held 15 or so of these events and the Head Coaches and Staffs hated doing them. When Jamie came in, he looked at the time devoted and monetary return and changed the format. Money talks and the format had seen its day. Side note: A coach made some embarrassing comments and I personally drove to Ames and handed the check to Gene Smith with an apology stating that our Club did not reflect that mindset. He thanked me and that was the end of it.Hmm. Perhaps @ChrisMWilliams and @brentblum can find some way to make up for that lost opportunity?
meters run until six as well.Parking should be interesting in CR with it being at downtown Vets Memorial Coliseum.
I remember those events quite well and I and some friends attended those in Osceola. The coaches were very amiable and seemed to enjoy the interactions with the fans. It would be interesting to see what drives the events now...if it's money then it's not about the fans at all which these things should be.Midcrest Cyclone Club was host for the “Outings” in Creston’s Elks Club & then moved to Osceola’s Casino. 200 attended in Creston for a steak dinner & then 300 @ the Casino’s buffet.
