If that ever gets old, I give up.
I've seen people on here say that Illinois rushes too much and tends to be turnover friendly. Lately, they've been very secure with the ball. To answer your question, I'd expect around 10-12.Just trying to gage the Illinois mindset here, many turnovers do you expect Illinois will committ against ISU? More or less.
Edit: for comparison, last 5 games Illinois committed:
Duquesne 7
Morehead State 9
Wisconsin 9
Nebraska 9
Ohio State 10
Iowa State forced (last 5 games):
Wazzou 12
South Dakota St 15
Houston 12
Baylor 13
K State 20
ISU Season TOs forced: 17.3 turnovers forced per game overall (16.7 per game Big 12 only)
IL is a very different team than WSU, but I thought it was positive, especially for Milan, that they started cold, hung with it, and shot through it. Could pay dividends in this upcoming game.This. As long as we don't come out extremely cold the first 10 minutes like Washington State, I like this one to be a Cyclone win. Withstand the first 10 and avoid any long scoring droughts. Illinois can be slowed but probably not stopped entirely. If our shots aren't falling similar to the first 10 min. against Washington St. or last years NCAA tournament game vs Pitt or like in some of our late Feb games this year, we could lose and lose badly IMO. Must have a good start.
The Bears debate is...who do we draft at #9? I assume a DE but thoughts? In general, I don't necessarily disagree with kenpom's assertion here whole cloth.
What I would say is that I don't think it's relevant to playing Iowa State. Nothing about our defense is typical. It's almost an offensive style of defense, if that makes any sense (trust me, you will see what I mean almost immediately tomorrow night.)
We don't react and adjust, as is generally the case with defense. We attack and dictate. If you like defense, it's kind of fun and interesting to watch. It's almost reckless and irresponsible the way we defend.
[PS....Go Bears!]
In classic CF fashion, i have given way too much thought about the uniform situation. Really glad we get to wear the whites with the gold CYCLONES on the front one more time. We are NEARLY undefeated in them (FU A&M)I've seen people on here say that Illinois rushes too much and tends to be turnover friendly. Lately, they've been very secure with the ball. I think we just keep going in circles. Which is why I am ready for this game to start. But they lately haven't played anyone with a defensive pulse.I've seen people on here say that Illinois rushes too much and tends to be turnover friendly. It's completely bs. I live east coast and was shocked that the game wouldn't start till 10I agree. Who wants to start that late.
'An absolute disgrace!' Mad Dog lets rip at NCAA start times - ESPN Video
Chris "Mad Dog" Russo can't fathom why the NCAA tournament tipoff times are so late.www.espn.com.au

On ISU d, i think i understand but you are saying that the best defenses in the country the past few years have not been that way? I probably need to go watch a few ISU games.
I hate it, but all of this is money driven so these times must be what gets them the most eyeballs coast to coast. It's completely bs. I live east coast and was shocked that the game wouldn't start till 10
Unfortunately, Stanford pulled that one on our own Audi Crooks. If that ever gets old, I give up.
Here is one....to divert us...outside of ISU, who is your most hated team left and why? and if ISU goes out who are you pulling for?
Very much so. And it's not a new thing, our "defensive coordinator", if you will, brought this style from Northern Iowa when he teamed up with Head Coach TJ Otz three years ago to make us into what we are today. The Bears debate is...who do we draft at #9? I assume a DE but thoughts?

A question to unite Illini and Cyclone fans - the obvious answer is Purdue! Here is one....to divert us...outside of ISU, who is your most hated team left and why? and if ISU goes out who are you pulling for?
Purdue for me too....being this good is new for them and it is irritating at times lol. But dang is Edey good.A question to unite Illini and Cyclone fans - the obvious answer is Purdue!
I'm pulling for Tennessee, Houston or Gonzaga if ISU loses
Classic clip, but also Kane was the closest thing Iowa St has seen to "booty ball." Hoiberg would try to iso him against a smaller/weaker defender, and he would back them down.
Excellent Question! Here is one....to divert us...outside of ISU, who is your most hated team left and why? and if ISU goes out who are you pulling for?
