If you are strong in project/product development you could try that route and have actuaries working for you. A lot more fun than crunching numbers on a computer all day. If strong in negotiations this could also be part of what you bring to a leadership role.
Yeah, I live in one of those DW villages. The smog does suck and the dust storms are worse than whiteouts. I'd stick with Ames until you are at least 50.
Agree with all of the above. I'd also consider knocking out some concrete flooring and putting in a pit and sump pump and hope that helps keep water from getting to the top of your flooring in the future. Did this in two places in a home we had in the 70s and had no more problems.
