    That should be the plan. Put him in the bullpen as a mop-up man/long reliever for the next 6 weeks until he gets his 10 years in, and then pull the plug. You absolutely CANNOT start him another ballgame.

    I'm still po'd the Cubs didn't bring back David Robertson this offseason. He was available for modest Neris-like money, he's a proven closer, he was very good for us when here. They need a pair of late-inning, veteran guys that are dependable, or this season will end up imploding.

    Cubs need a better option at the end of games than Neris, he ain't gonna get it done long-term. I could see Hoyer going out to get a veteran late-game guy at the deadline, but can the Cubs wait that long? Should have been addressed this past winter!

    Until Happ and Suzuki return at full strength, no reason Mervis shouldn't be in that lineup as DH at the very least, against every RH starter we face. Give the guy a chance, he has nothing left to prove with the bat in AAA. I think he can do it.

    Mizzou has nothing in Columbia. Everything there is downtown. I kinda liked Norman though. And Lincoln was just, weird. I'd view us as middle of the pack wrt the old Big 8 schools.
