Several ISU mentions in Jeff Eisenberg's 68 'bold' predictions for upcoming season (SIAP):
20. Big 12 breakout star: Donovan Jackson, Iowa State
28. Basketball schools that will have more success on the gridiron than the hardwood this year: Memphis, Iowa State
33. Freshmen ranked outside the top...
CBS Sports has Georges Niang projected as the #50 overall draft pick. Personally, I think he should stick around unless he is projected as a first rounder...
Seems to be plenty of tickets left to watch the Alabama game and the game against Ariz St or Maryland at the Sprint Center in KC (aka Hilton South) on 11/24 and 11/25. Can't wait to see how team chemistry is developing. I expect them to take care of Alabama rather easily. The second game...
The early games are going ISU's way:
Baylor is playing OSU tough in Stillwater tied at 27-27 with 2:31 left in 1st half.
KSU is trailing at half to WV 39-31.
Does anyone know when the kickoff time is supposed to be set for this game? Kickoff shows as TBD wherever I look.
I've got tickets and plan to use them, but I am trying to figure out if I will have time to attend another event before the game which is on the way to Manhattan. I'm looking...
Watched a news clip the other night discussing the impacts of the B12 tournament on the KC economy and they were interviewing a bartender who works in the P&L district. His comment about the fans from the various schools was something to the effect of "Cyclone fans are the best tippers, KState...
ISU has moved up to #34. Loss to Texas doesn't look so bad as KenPom has them at #20. Based purely on his rankings, it would seem that the B12 has a strong case for getting get six teams in the tournament.

All three of our incoming recruits nominated. When was the last time we had this many recruits nominated, if ever?

Saturday's NWS forecast for Manhattan includes rain and possible snow.
Saturday: A 50 percent chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 41.
Saturday Night: A chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
So who benefits from this? Neither team...
Nice to get a little respect from the KC media. Kerkhoff has generally been very fair in his assessments and predictions and does not seem to be biased toward the local teams.

Way too early to get excited, but it is still nice to see an ISU BB team picked to finish dead last in the B12 get some deserved (at least to this point in the season) national recognition.

Not much hope in Jayhawk land. Most posters are predicting blowout scores along the lines of 48-7. Not one KU poster has dared to state that KU might even keep it close. The only one who thought it might be close was an ISU fan.

FYI for those of you that thought it would have been a big deal to have MJ hanging around ISU BB.

Coach Self just needs to learn how to recruit players that will stick with what they've started.:jimlad:
Saw this on a KU board and thought would generate some interesting discussion.
Here is my shot at it based on the definition of success as a coach being both a good caoch and a good recruiter.
1. Self - Obviously a good recruiter and has done wonders with what is essentially a brand new team...
Was anyone else as disappointed as I was with the announcers and the overall broadcast? IMO (in my opinion for those of you from Rio Linda) the announcers were pulling for the Buckeyes for most of the game, several plays were missed due to the excessive amount of info-bits that were run between...
Good news for the Chiefs:
Kansas City Chiefs - Clark Hunt Announces the Resignation of Carl Peterson
Now Chiefs fans have a little something to look forward to.
He was on here the last few days stirring things up a bit. He seemed like the kind of SDSU fan that would be classy enough to come back and post even after a convincing loss. I was hoping to hear his take on the game, the fans, and Ames in general.
