Richardson will have graduated, and Rohach is going the grad-transfer route to play his last year of eligibility.

So Lanning will be the starter.

Beyond that...does anyone know how things shake out down the list? Everybody is pretty young...
7Joel LanningQB6-2232RSo.Ankeny, Iowa (Ankeny)
8Dominic De Lira QB6-1193Fr.Austin, Texas (Lake Travis)
16Kyle StarcevichQB6-3215RFr.Altoona, Iowa (Southeast Polk)
19Josh RingelbergQB6-0190Fr.Greendale, Wis. (Greendale)

Just from reading the bios...

**De Lira is from Texas, so that activates bias to think he is the most legit. Bio says chose ISU over Houston and Rice...

** Ringelberg was a walk on, but sounds like he had quite the HS career in Wisc. 10,000 yds passing. More of a pocket passer than Lanning runner?

**Starcevich was good in SE Polk. Is he a competitor? Or more of a scout team guy? Height/weight more like Lanning.

He paints great portraits!

Happy (smiling on the inside) to have my workout interrupted with this beautiful piece of artwork by @kstarce14

Other
** Darius Lee-Campbell switched to WR last year.
** Trevor Hodge switched to Safety a couple years back and now is...who knows??

I would not worry umtil spring ball

Yeah, that is prob a good idea too...I just have no idea about "expectations".

With the 'turnover' transfer/position switch/departure of Rohach, Lee-Campbell and Hodge, who among remaining De Lira, Ringelberg and Starcevich was recruited to be a potential starter, and who to be a nice walk-on/practice guy? That is my main question.

Sounds like De Lira did not impress this year. I imagine we will get a Juco QB to back up Joel/Compete with Joel if good enough.

DeLira was a Frosh so I wouldn't judge too much. Wts..the QB roster will look a lot diff this fall so not worried.

Hear that the new staff wants a JUCO and a HS QB in the 2016 class. JUCO to take Grant's scholly then HS to continue to add depth for the future.

Based on what? I never got to see him do anything. I was more concerned about whether he was a Mangino guy . . . I know that when I talked to Mangino, he really liked De Lira.

He was backup in high school, he was a project from the start. Mangino is the only one who was hyped on him.

The not a starter thing is totally wrong. He started as a Junior and was the starter as a Senior except when he missed time for a suspension. Some guy on here thought he would be a backup to Michael Brewers younger brother, but he wasn't.

The rest of your post could very well be true.
