Could an argument be made that DeJean should have went down on the 1 yd line instead of scoring that TD on the punt return? That's what I was thinking when watching it live.

But Minny had 2 TO's left. Iowa would have had it 1st and goal on the 1 with about 1:20 left. So had Iowa made the chip shot FG on 4th down, there would have been roughly 35 secs left or so, but Minny with no TO's.

Basically the difference would have been Minny getting the ball with 1:20 left and 2 TO's and needing a TD... OR... Minny getting the ball with 35 secs left, no TO's and needing a FG to win.

In retrospect, I think scoring the TD was probably the right call.

Just not a smart player. Invalid fair catch, not recognizing the situation of the clock…woof

Now they think they'll be getting an apology letter from the B1G?? Why? It was absolutely the correct call.

RE: The DeJean wave off: The same thing happened in the Alabama game to Tennessee on a kickoff. The Vols started at their 3 yard-line instead of the 24 after the return was overturned on review. Tennessee ended up punting, Alabama drove for a bit for a FG. What a Daily Double!

When Lute Olson was Iowa basketball coach, the Hoks lost when a Purdue (?) player was fouled on a last second shot and he sank two free throws. Hok fans thought otherwise, even though a Sports Illustrated photo showed that he was fouled. After the game, Jim Zabel found the refs address and gave it over the air several times (I think on TV, too). Needless to say, that official got a ton of death threats
The ref was Jim Bain.

How diss that scenario play out? The way you explained it makes it sound like Tennessee should have gotten the ball at the 25

Feels like Duke shouldn't really be in this game and FSU blows em out in the 2nd half
