As someone who never watches wrestling, no idea how that was a 1 pt match. Carr looked to be the clear winner.

He was the clear winner. Messenbrink had some assistance to keep that close

That color commentary was some of the most unprofessional crap ever. We get it, all you guys know is Penn State, but all they could talk about was how great Messenbrink was the entire match and basically trying to will him to victory despite Carr getting the first two takedowns. This isn’t some random dude either, it’s a former champion, returning finalist and 4x Big 12 champion. Accolades can keep going. That was horrendous.

When is a pin a 3pt bonus? If you are saying it is a bonus getting 6 rather than a 3 point decision, that is true, just never really heard it put that way.

Any win beyond a decision is considered bonus points per NCAA website

It could have been gamesmanship, but I saw a guy who was getting dominated taunting the guy dominating him, then giving a halfhearted handshake as he walked away.

Maybe he should use that "full tank" to expend energy wrestling.
