After games like this, I am reminded of Yogi Berra's comment about "baseball is 90% mental and the other half is physical." Somehow, some people forget how incredibly difficult it is to get into the right frame of mind game in and game out in high level competitive sports. We are reminded of this in professional sports when great players have a bad game, or are "in a slump." It's what makes true superstars so unique because somehow they are able to play at an extremely high level game after game after game. It is no surprise that our MBB and WBB teams have off nights this week. If you are way above your competition skill-wise, you can have an off night and still win. If you are a good team, like us, we need to be mentally "on" in order to win most games. Maybe we should be surprised our men and women are "on" as often as they are rather than surprised when they are "off." All I know is I'm still 100% behind these women; they will bounce back but life it tough in the B12.
