Looks like we'll more than likely be the 6 seed at this point, which means we'll play late on Thursday. I think this is our best chance to get to the title game and it will mean "Hilton South" every evening. Good chance we can win the tourney again from the bottom half of the bracket. Thoughts?

very unlikely but if Tech wins @ WVU or @ KU (not happening) and we win vs KSU & OSU and lose @ KU, Tech will jump us for the 6 seed and we'll be the 7 playing Wednesday night vs TCU. 1 more night of Hilton South tho :jimlad:

I think we lose in the first game, and end up with a 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

*Edit- I also screwed up in the poll. I was thinking NCAA seed and not Big 12 seed.

I can see Texas losing 2 of last 3 and we own that tie breaker which would likely put us at 5. Not that is assuming Baylor doesn't collapse and end up there with us which would tha stick us at 6..

No way we are going to be a 6 seed. Ain't happening. Ranking in polls mean nothing btw. Louisville and SMu are out too btw. If tourney were held today we'd likely be a 4 seed. That's teams 13-16 and we are right there with those teams in RPI..SOS..non conf RPI...wins vs Top 25 and top 50. Our RPI is 18 right now and SOS is 10th..that's 10th in country. By far the two most important factors in seeding are RPI and SOS...not to mention we play in toughest conference in the country and play a round robin. If we beat ksu and okie st and win one in tourney I'd say we are a 4 seed lock.

So let me edit and say I'm an idiot...just realized it's a big 12 tourney seeding.

Three games in three days would wreck this team for NCAA's.

Yep. Which is why I almost want us to win 1 game assuming it's Thursday then play tough Friday but go home and rest and regroup for real season. Last year 3 game stretch destroyed the team IMO. Too much.

whether ISU is a 4,5 or 6 seed in KC, the most likely opponents are Baylor, OU, Texas or WVU.

Last 5 games
Baylor 0-5
OU 3-2 *includes 1 neutral site game
WVU 3-2
Texas 4-1 *includes 1 neutral site game

Agree with this and few other things. Baylor lost at home vs KU, and has TCU, WV at home and OU away. So they might end up 1-3 or 2-2.

Texas has OU KU at home and OSU away. So they could go 0-3,1-2, or 2-1.
Not 100 percent sure but I assume if Texas goes any of those ISU will go ahead of them. Bc of non conf SOS and home W against them.

Then since everyone is worried about Tech, ha evens hot Streak tech team won't beat WV and KU away. I mean they almost got beat by bottom feeders TCU tonight Sorry no way even in this big 12 yr. They do have kstate at home so that should be a W. So like Alex Halsted said I too feel they will go 9-9.

Then you have good ole Iowa St which has a loss to WV, kstate/OSU at home n mighty KU away. You guys have to have a good feeling these seniors won't want to lose these nxt 2 H games. So don't see it happening, KU will probably be a loss but would be great to see a suprise end of season victory in Allen. So Iowa State can be 2-2 or insane but maybe 3-1.

So there you have it my prediction is KU, WV (Yuck) OU, Texas, ISU, Baylor, Tech. I can see ISU and Texas flipping spots

Extremes for Big 12 tournament seeding — doesn’t include every scenario that’s possible league-wide, just extremes for Iowa State.

Best-case for Big 12 tournament seeding
1. Kansas (14 - 4)
2. Iowa State (11 - 7) Defeated Oklahoma based on record against #1 teams.
3. Oklahoma (11 - 7) Lost to Iowa State based on record against #1 teams.
4. Texas (10 - 8) Defeated Baylor and West Virginia based on round-robin record.
5. Baylor (10 - 8) Defeated West Virginia and lost to Texas based on round-robin record.
6. West Virginia (10 - 8) Lost to Texas and Baylor based on round-robin record.
7. Texas Tech (9 - 9)
8. Oklahoma State (5 - 13) Defeated TCU and Kansas State based on record against #1 teams.
9. TCU (5 - 13) With Kansas State, lost to Oklahoma State based on record against #1 teams. Defeated Kansas State based on record against #4 teams.
10. Kansas State (5 - 13) With TCU, lost to Oklahoma State based on record against #1 teams. Lost to TCU based on record against #4 teams.

Worst-case
1. Kansas (13 - 5)
2. Baylor (12 - 6)
3. Texas (11 - 7) Defeated West Virginia based on head-to-head record.
4. West Virginia (11 - 7) Lost to Texas based on head-to-head record.
5. Texas Tech (10 - 8) Defeated Oklahoma based on record against #1 teams.
6. Oklahoma (10 - 8) Lost to Texas Tech based on record against #1 teams.
7. Iowa State (8 - 10)
8. Kansas State (7 - 11)
9. Oklahoma State (5 - 13)
10. TCU (3 - 15)

I think we have only lost 4 straight to Baylor, as we beat them in the 2014 tourney finals...

We own the tiebreaker over Texas? I was just running scenarios through that bracket generator website and us going 2-1 down the stretch and Texas going 1-2 still gives us the 6 seed? Unless we go 3-0 or Texas loses all three games I dont see any scenario where we would not be the 6th seed right now.

Edit: Baylor over West Virginia would give Iowa State the 5th seed. Thats assuming everything else holds to form and we dont have any crazy upsets the last 3 games.

I can't believe people want to lose in the Big 12 Tournament. It's so much fun when we win down there and I think the last two years have proven it has no correlation on how we do in the NCAA Tournament.

If we have the same record as TX, and they lose to KU or OU ( who likely finish 1-2 in standings), we have the tie breaker based on us having victories over KU ( start there than move to OU). If there is a 3 way tie with TX and Baylor or WVU , we than lose the tie breaker to both of them based on head to head records
