Congrats to Hallie Christofferson for making the Big 12 all-freshman team!

Well deserved! Hallie averaged 9.3 points per game this season and 5.2 rebounds. She scored in double figures 13 times, including a career-high 21 at Kansas.

Chelsea Poppens named to the all-defensive team. She was awesome on D this year. Don't quote me on this, but I think she drew something like 37 charges.

Excellent job by our ladies this year and their awards are well deserved. Let's win a couple at the Big XII tourney and get a good seed in the NCAA!!

What's with naming 7 players to 1st team all conference? Are they trying to one-up the old Iowa girls 6 player game? 5 players were unanimous selections so there was no need to dilute the 1st team by adding the other two selections.

10, not 7. He listed them by school, so some lines have more than one player

The Big 12 did that after most other conferences had already moved toward that. It used to be 5 first, 5 second, 5 third. Now there are 10 first and five second.

10, not 7.

That makes it even more lame. What's next - 3 MVP's, 2 national champions, participation ribbons for everybody? Everybody might have different opinions on who the top 5 are, but the consensus top 5 should always be better than the consensus 2nd 5.
