I've always been a fan of Lincolns, probably because I'm an old soul at heart. Would you recommend them? Looking at an MKZ (probably years 2011-2016), but I'm kind of tempted looking at Towncars as I kind of like the thought of driving on a cloud plus I've heard its not uncommon for Towncars to last over 300k miles.

FYI , there will be very few after market parts available so maintaining and repairing anything will be spendy.

I loved them until I had some engine issues not under warranty. Then I paid to replace the engine and had the same issue. It soured me on Lincoln’s since nothing like this since, could be a one off

Was this a navigator with the Triton motor?

My grandpa was going to give me his 1976 Lincoln MarkIV. Then he forgot to tell my grandma and she sold it. Wish I had that monster boat.
I have a buddy that has a mid 70s MarkIV and he only busts it out for weddings and funerals.

I've owned both. Both damn good cars. I currently own a 22 Nautilus.
I love the warranty. Also the perks from the dealership when get service or warranty work.

My dad's last 3 vehicles have been the Lincoln SUV mkx or mkc don't remember which pretty much all trouble free he keeps them to about 200,000.
If you were doing a weekend car on of the big Lincoln convertibles or 4 doors from the 70s are a statement. :)

This thing was a beauty, good condition little to no snow and salt, they lived in S. Illinois. Leather was perfect, it still hurts I dont have it.
Man that’s brutal. Had a buddy out in Virginia who grew up in the Baltimore area. His old neighbor had a 1970 Chevelle SS that was her late husbands. She sold it to him for like $1500 back in 2000. She knew how much he loved that car and basically gave it to him. This thing was in mint freaking condition too.

I've been eyeballing the 2017 and newer 3.0T AWD. Leased a 2017 Fusion Sport with the 2.7T that I loved. Seems like the Lincoln would be even better.

That is one lucky bastard that would be my dream car.

If it's a 1972 Mark IV with cruise control, then you should buy one. Everything 1973 and later was ruined by the gaudy 5-MPH bumpers, but the post-1972 Mark IV's are still pretty cool cars nonetheless. If you are going for the superboat motif, 1970-1972 Continental will do the job.

On a more serious note, the Town Car on the Panther platform (along the the Merc Grand Marquis and the Ford Crown Vic on the Panther platform) are really pretty bullet proof cars, with plenty of parts available. If you can find one in good shape, snag it.

My first car was a mint condition 82 Grand Marquis. Had 32k original miles on it my dad bought it from an old lady. Sadly it got crushed by a tree branch during an ice storm in StL.

My first car was my grandfathers 1984 Grand Marquis. It was a boat and fun as hell to drive.
