Good article, you could tell that he really struggled early on. Glad to see that he got it turned around. Looks really ripped in that photo.

Among other things, a college degree tells the world you are a person of accomplishment and persistence. And to do this while also meeting the physical and mental demands of a D1 wrestling program is particularly noteworthy. Great story!

I hope all the posters who bad mouthed Quean over the years as a wrestler will read this, and understand that they are making those comments about a real human being, about someone who has overcome all kinds of obstacles and who persevered - something much, much harder to do than post silly and sometimes nasty comments.

I was kinda hoping and expecting before the season started that we would see some big things from Quean this year. When I saw his and Max's grad picture the other day (and his smile) I realized that is a pretty big thing. I'm still hoping we'll see some more fireworks on the mat like he showed at Cliff Keen.

Wow I can't even put into words the pride I feel having people like Quean, the Jacksons, and everybody else who helped him along the way as fellow Cyclones. Thanks for posting.

I just finished reading that story. Such a great accomplishment for Quean putting in all that work and earning his degree. That is really remarkable everything he had to overcome.

Kudos to Coach Jackson for the everything he did to help him along the way and I couldn't agree more that he did help save a life.

Incredible resolve from Quean. Could've thrown in the towel so many times and gone back home to that lifestyle, and nobody would've been able to really blame him. Goes to show what kind of person he is.
