"Better season" measurement

For starters, good for the McCaffrey family with what they've been through this last year.
This was Iowa's best team under Fran. They lost to freaking PSU in the conf tourney, and then won a NCAA game in what was pretty obvious the perfect match-up they could have faced. Again good for them, but ISU crushed em H2H, finished higher in the Big 12, won the conf tourney.
My point being, ISU's highs were MUCH greater than Iowa, and Iowa got it's share of cream puffs with an unbalanced Big 10 schedule to even get into the NCAA as a 7 seed. Did you see their last like 6 or 7 Big 10 opponents. Iowa didn't have a bad team, but they aint no world beaters that all of sudden became a juggernaut as the season wore on.
Iowa got to go 1 game deeper...so congrats to them. Anything short of at least making the 2nd weekend has been a disappointment for me as an ISU fan since Fred has been here.

I voted Sweet 16. If we hadn't already made it to the second round the last three years, I might have voted different. We got a lot of publicity this season which I think will pay dividends in the future even though we wet the bed against UAB.
