Awesome stuff, Blum. I'll definitely be cheering a little harder for Georges these last 3 home games. Hope he gets the chance for a long standing ovation during a blowout win on Senior Night.

I'm glad Georges came to check out the cornfields. After a great career in Ames, he'll leave knowing that there's more to this place than that.
Senior night will be one of those happy/and very sad nights for him, and Cyclone fans everywhere.

What would it take for Morgan Freeman to narrate this article, and have video to go with it? A Niang documentary. I would pay huge $$$$$ for this!

Great article by Blum and great interview by Goodman. Really enjoying these pieces.

Senior Day tickets may sell for more than Iowa or Kansas tickets this year!

Great article Blum.

What's amazing about Georges is that he's been the same person since he stepped on campus (except for his body of course). There was no "opening up to the media" or "stepping into his role". Georges was Georges from day 1, on and off the court.

I love that you included his first game at Allen Field House, there has never been any fear in that guy. Whether he makes it in the NBA or not, there is no doubt he will be successful after college.

Great article Blum! Tears will be shed from my family of 4 on Senior Night. Has there been another Cyclone as endearing as Georges? I enjoy every interview that he's had because you never know what is going to come out of his mouth. Great sense of humor, humble, confident & thoughtful. I gotta find a way to shake his hand and thank him for the joy he has brought me the past 4 years. Amazing talent w/ a bright future ahead.

Was Georges really not even a top 150 recruit when he committed after his Jr year? I've gathered he shot up a bunch after he committed but that seems surprising.

Georges is such a special player. It will be one of the weirdest things to not see #31 on the court next year. Being a college student, Niang is the icon that I will remember associated with ISU basketball.

Great read Blum. And agree, possibly your best piece. I don't believe I ever called Georges Niang unathletic. Norvelle Pelle, yes. But not Niang. LOL
